Deering Students Check Capisic Brook’s Health

This spring Deering students collected another round of water chemistry and aquatic macroinvertebrate data to their on-going research project. The students saw a significant decline in Capisic Brook’s water quality compared to data from fall 2024. The students created several hypotheses to consider why this might be.

This amazing program is funded by the City of Portland through the Greener Neighborhoods Cleaner Streams program and taught by the Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District.
