Longfellow Students Become YardScaping Experts

Throughout the month of May, Longfellow 5th graders researched a variety of YardScaping topics. They applied that knowledge to a variety of test sites including a vermiculture bin, several compost bins, rain gardens, and lawn. The students compared equipment and tools, built models to test theories, and selected native plants to prevent erosion, create habitat, and filter out some pollutants.
