Portland Middle Schoolers Release Brook Trout in Local Stream

Students from Lincoln Middle School arrived to the Mill Brook trailhead Thursday morning for some hiking-learning-trout releasing fun! Joined by folks from Presumpscot Trails, Greener Neighborhoods Cleaner Streams, and the Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District, middle-schoolers had the opportunity to test Mill Brook’s water quality, study macroinvertebrates from the brook, and release trout that they had grown from eggs in their classrooms.
